This started as a New Year's Resolution on a whim. I don't think it will ever be much, but we'll just have to see where it will go. It got its name from a joke:
Where does a pirate record his thoughts?
On a blarrrrrrgh.
Anyway...
Initially, it's going to be a lot of getting things off of my chest. There's a lot that I don't like about the world, and I know I probably won't change anything, but I just feel like this is the best way for me to do this. Otherwise, it will be a lot of commentary on what's happening in the news and whatnot.
You'll probably notice that there is a lot that refers back to my Christian faith. That's part of the reason that there is a lot that I don't like about the world. I'm not a delusional, me-and-my-Bible-in-the-corner-of-my-house type Christian, but I do believe that it is the infallible Word of God, and that this Word of God has been explained very clearly in the Book of Concord, which the historic Lutheran church has subscribed to. I like the phrase, "Christian by faith, Lutheran by confession" to explain my beliefs.
I'm also a mechanical engineering student at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and an Air Force ROTC cadet. When I graduate, I will commission as an officer in the Air Force and hopefully be an engineer. I'm going to try to post roughly once a month for the year, more if I get the time.
